Two options here, the first and the most common is hood pins.

Available from your local performace shop or summit/jegs/favoriteonlineretailer, they're cool looking, and allow you to ditch the stock hood latch. No bar nessesary after the addition of hood pins.

Second option - SCRAP YARD!!! They're everywhere, any stock mustang hood should have one.

Personally, I'd run (meaning I currently have) hood pins. My hood is glass, and was never meant for a latch. Adjusted properly, they have no downsides.

EXCEPT!!! - anyone can open your hood, whenever they want! There is no "lock" to keep people's sticky fingers out of your engine bay. My car rarely gets left in parking lots, so it's never been an issue. Depends on what you want to do.

Hope that helps.

You do not need the bar on a fiberglass hood. That bar is a spring to help lift the heavy stock hood. All you need it the metal where the latch catches the hood to close it (the large hole with metal on the driver's side).

+1 on the pins

if the fiberglass lets go, or you don't have it properly adjusted, you'll be buying a new hood and windshield

hmmmm. Very good point. Guess it wouldn't look all that bad since I would only need two for the front since it will bolt up to the factory hinges
