My alternator went out on my 91 gt and i was wondering if anybody knew of a good upgrade bc i know the stock is only 75amp and ive heard of guys going to 110 amp but i dont know which alternator to use and if i need a special bracket?????

I got one off of a 94 Tbird with a 3.8L V6. It is the better 3G style and requires some wiring mods, but charges much better than the stock alt. You just have to grind a little aluminum out of the bracket to make it fit. Here is a picture of mine.

I bought a new 3G off of ebay from a company called alterstart. Can witg the necessary wiring adapters. Minor filing as LXMan1 says and you're in.

PA Performance was the company I went with. 130 amp output and it has a lifetime warranty. I can run my electric fan, headlights AND foglights and the alternator doesn't even notice. Installation is almost the same as the guys described for the T-Bird 3G unit.
