Default 1993 Mustang Motor questions

i have a 1993 mustang and is recently broke. head gaskets and bottom end went out. i was wondering if i could plug in a 1990 1991 1992 engine into my 93 stang 5.0.ho. my question is will the stock computer not function right being that the 87-92 motors have more horse power?

everything will be fine just be sure to plug back in all your sensors and it will work

but why not get an explorer motor so you will have more hp???

good luck

yeah it'll be fine. the older motors are a little more due to cam, and also the newer were downgraded based on a different way ford measured hp

you can use an '88 motor with your electronics and it'd be great

i'd look for an '88 or '89

i have owned a few, and by far my '89 was the fastest mod for mod

So a few more questions about my 93 mustang. okay i want a car with more horsepower, i guess that im just really caught up behind the whole electrical computer and smog components. I want to upgrade the motor really bad i just dont want to be stuck not being able to pass smog or things like that. I reside in California. im in the works of doing a 5 lug conversion with disks all around for breaking power and also doing a 3g upgrade along with the big 3. It's just the motor im confused about. you mentioned 88 and 89 motors will plug right in and that those have the most power? This will be my first swap by the way so bare with me..lol i found a 94-95 5.0 h.o will that work?

a 94ho will work fine. The best engine you could probably go with for power would be a cobra motor. Better heads, intake and it has roller rockers.
