How do i tell what gears i have ?

how do you tell what type of gears you have in your car, cause im not sure if the previouse owner had them changed or not, do you guys have any little tricks to find out other than pullin your rear diff cover off ?

get it up in the air and see how many times the rear end turns... i think thats how. if it goes around 3 and half times you got 3.55's etc.

Close but you need to mark the drive shaft and count how many times it goes around compared to many many times the wheel goes around.
