Popping out of first?
Hey i did a search and didn't find anything specific to this so i'm hoping this helps. I've got am 88 coupe with a t5 and just a couple weeks ago its started to pop out of first gear and i can't seem to figure out why. It only does it in first gear and it only does it when i'm accelerating from a stop. Any ideas of what this could be? it doesn't matter if i'm easing the clutch out or being more aggressive with it and it doesn't do it all the time but its does do its about 25% or so. Thanks for any help in advance

Either a bent fork, preventing it from fully engaging 1st so it slips out. Or worn teeth on the slider and/or dog gear assembly int he synchro. Or both. Sounds like it's time for a rebuild.
Make sure the shifter has the full range of motion too, it COULD be that something is jamming the shifter up and preventing you from totally grabbing the gear.

No doubt about it man. It's the syncros. The exact same thing happend to my car. I went to the race track Nov 08 and screwed my tranny up. I drove it for about 6 mths grinding in third. One day I was driving it popped out of 3rd. I also had no fourth. Do not waste your time and try and just get the syncros fix. I would try and buy a rebuilt one (junkyarddog.com) that would be the best. Good luck dude..
