see, you took that the wrong way. i wasnt saying you in general where giving wrong information. alot of people are. i said everything you said about caster is correct, as it wont cause any tire wear, and cross caster will always cause a pull. this is all right, but caster also is the main factor in steering return, and you said it isnt. so, how have i given "wrong information" to anyone???

thats why i said even though you do alignments everyday you still might not understand every aspect. i know most of the people that post on here just read alot and then repeat what they have read, which is usually incorrect. ive been in the automotive industry for a long time and give input on things i have seen. next time you align a bmw look at the amount of caster it has, usually around 7° positive. thats why they handle so good at higher speeds, same with corvettes, and any other high speed car. caster is a trade off of steering return, and high speed stability. if you have alot of + caster it will feel better at high speeds, but makes them harder to turn at lower speed, and the return isnt there. if you have less + caster the wheel will return easier, but the steering response at high speeds is lower. alot of people dont understand caster as well as camber and toe, b/c most people only want the car to not wear tires, so caster isnt as important.
