I'm pulling my hair out
Ok I have been trouble shooting a gripe on my 95 GT 5.0. She would lose power and stutter even going downhill, the was enter mitten sometimes she would run fine. At first I thought it might be ignition, but I turned to fuel and looked at the mass air sensor. Today I got a reader and checked I was given a 159 for my removed EGR on key on engine off. And a 159 for the MAF with engine running. So I went and picked up a MAF after I reset codes and changed the mMAF. She ran like a top for about 25 mil’s and pulled hard when I got in here. Then it started stuttering again at times. I checked the codes and got a 113 (air charge temp to high) with key on engine off, and same code pulse 998 ECU fault. So I reset code and tried again. This time 159 came back (MAF) so I reset code again and removed my Hyper tech chip. Still 159. My mods are tuned shortys, and full 2.5 exhaust no cat, EGR removed and smog, 70 mm throttle body, cold air from C&Lwith stock 19lbs MAF. MSD coil cap rotor and wires, my timing is set back at 10, and fuel press at 35 psi. I had just changed the IAC and TSP last week, and checked all my ignition. I’m wondering if my ECU is going bad. So any one have ideas?

Well I found out the problem after making a lot of phone calls. The ECU is crapping out and this is a normal proublem for the 94 and 95 GT's since they are between the OBD1 and OBD2 systems. Im told that my two Mass air sencer should still be good.

I still have yet to see an ECM go bad.
leave the hypertech chip off the car.
What code scanner are you using?
I strongly suggest you do a google search for "Joel5.0 DIY self test"
Learn to do it the easy way.
and please, for Gods sake, learn to break up your post so its easier to follow!

I'm using a stock MAF. I talked to a Mech at The Mustang Shop in Auburn WA. and he was positive that it was the ECM since having the same problems with 94 and 95's. I am going to talk to someone I know a ford MEch also today. Sorry for the long post. I wanted to give all the info I had.
