Default bit of a trans prob.

i have a t-5 that i bought for 250 and we put it in the stang thinking everything was all good. we finished that up and now the trans wanted to slip out of first and back into nuetral. The problem is that small gear after the first gear inside of the trans....my buddy who took it apart said it was the first gear syncro. so i call a local shop and they said it would cost me $20 for the syncro. has any one tore down a t5 this far, and was it a punk to do or was it pretty simple? let me know.

It dosen't sound like a synchro to me IMO.Almost sounds like a bad shift fork or something else.

you might as well buy the synco kit and do them all also now would be a great time to pull the 3.35 first gear and install the cobra 2.95 first gear..
