Default Brick wall higher rpms

Car has alotta tourqe low end but after i hit 4700 rpms i seems to rev, hold, then jump up in revs, stay where its at, then jump again and repeat, and getting past 5500 is crazy hard and slow. Am I floating a valve? Mods are as follows

C/A intake
Flowmaster exhaust
Really Lopy cam (unknown brand)
Distributor and wires
Underdrive pulleys
A/C delete
Strut towers

Bought it like this and havent touched it, thats why the cam is an unknown cam. Read in MM&FF that lopy cams can start floating valves, this true? Looking for ideas as to why i have no high rpms, which id really like to play with

Sound's like you are getting valve float since the factory springs are too weak for the aftermarket grind cam.

Whats the fix if its valve float? New Valve Springs? where do i look and what do i look for. Also would it hurt to add 1.7 roller rockers if im replacing springs? Will springs add any performance or will they just fix the float? Thanks for the fast reply

Well it will do both, fix the float and if the valve's are not floating out of course it is going to add more power, and do you know the spec's on the cam,and also you car is a mass air car isn't it.

Well they will work as long as there pedastal mount rockers, but you will need to know the specs on the cam so you can decide if you might have pistion to valve clearnce issues since the rocker will create higher lift then the cam already has, but i would look into better springs asap.

Well the factory motors have pedastal mount rockers which are non adjustible, just basically a tighten and go thing, but stud mount rockers are adjustible and you will need to adjust the valve's with stud mount rockers, just like you would a sbc or anything else with stud rockers.

I htink I understand that, are the stud mount rockers better because you can tune them for more performance? How can you change from pedestal to stud mount? Do you use shims under the rocker to adjust the valves?

Thanks much, are valve springs pretty much the same performance wise or are there certain ones better than others? Any guesses on performance boost on the springs alone? Crane cams was advertising +38 hp so id guess regular aplications are like 20 with crane cams roller rockers? thanks for the help man
