Default 91 tps voltage

i have a 91 gt. i am trying to set the tps voltage after rebuilding my motor. i know how to set it, but when i try to do so the voltage jumps up and down with out moving the sensor. it moves between 1 and 3 volts with out moving it. the car will start but will only run above 1500 rpms and dies when you take your foot off the pedal. it has me stumped

make sure your test leads are making good contact to get an accurate reading, if they are and prob still exists the sensor may be on the fritz......

if you're hitting 3 volts at idle, the sensor is toast.

Sometimes the only good thing about a new part is the box. Bubba

Which wires are you probing?

You should be probing the GND and SGN RTN. Idle, the TPS should be at around 0.98v and WOT should be around 4.9v.
