Default Intake+Cam vs. Heads

Edelbrock Intake and cam, or Edelbrock heads? Finally saved up some money, and dont know which route to take. Pros, cons, and any advice in general appreciated.

i say go with the heads first, you wont notice much gain from the cam/intake with the stock heads, but you will notice a gain from the heads with the stock cam/intake.

if you go with some eddie performers you will easily get 20HP on a stock motor. that should shave some time off your 1/4, unless the extra power causes you to lose traction, but i doubt it. after doing that do the gears, cam, intake. that should wake the motor up.

I would do all 3 at once and add a new timing chain and gears.... the heads if match ported to the intake with a new can are looking at about 45-50hp

Would I be wasting money if I bought a new matching cam and intake, and just had my stock heads ported and polished?

stock heads will need a few hundred in work. PP, valve job, guides cut, new springs, a good set of valves

i would go with a good set of aluminum heads that would fit future plans, and probably put the cam in too while i had the engine apart. good luck either way.
