No slack on clutch cable

No slack on clutch cable
I snapped my oem cable(got loose and burned on the header) got a non adjustable replacement, but I've read theres suppose to be a gap/slack between the cable and the firewall adjuster, well I've got the adjuster all the way in but the tension is still there with zero gap.

Speaking of adjustable cables and slack, not to hijack the thread or anything, is there normally supposed to be some slack or does that just depend on the setup? I have LRS's kit with the triple hook quad, stock firewall, and adjustable cable. It is adjusted till no slack and engages right off the floor pretty much. I haven't had alot of time behind it but it seems to work without slippage. Any ideas?
