Default Ecu help

Hi guys i was in the need of a new a9l, but i ran into someone who has a a9p. My question will that work. I believe thats an ecu from a truck.

Second does it matter on ecu if its a manual?
Can i get a a9l and say its for a standard can i use it on an automatic?

How can i tell him the ecu is for a standard or automatic? Any help greatly appreciated. thx.

Vehicle its for is a 1990 mustang. 5.8L

Awww can no one shed some light for me . Also can a wiring harness that was used for speed density be used on mass air? I'm thinking it can but always nice to know for sure.
