New sunroof seal has a gap.

Hello everyone, I am new to this forum but I have owned this particular '86 Mustang since 1990. Recently I had the car repainted, and figured it's time to start fixing it up more. First thing to do is to fix the water leak that has messed up my headliner. I bought the reproduction sunroof glass seal and the glass to body seal from CJ Pony Parts. Now that I have it installed I am noticing gaps at the corners when the glass is in the closed position. THese gaps are big enough to let in water.
Did I install it wrong? I dont think I did. I worked at Ford dealers for 14 years as a mechanic so I would like to believe that I would know how to replace a weatherstrip.

My question is, "Should I have spent more to buy the original Ford glass seal that they carry for $120 or will it be the same as the reproduction glass seal for $25?"

I need help with this as this is driving me crazy. Thanks in advance.

I've put on the $25 stripping on my old 91 Lx with a sunroof. It was purchased at advanced auto. I had no issues, went right on, no gaps or anything. The actual seal that goes onto the glass was about an inch too long soi I had to trim it. I don't see what difference it makes. Just thought I'd let you know I went the cheap rout as well, just didn't have issues.

Did you buy the seal recently? I looked on their website and didnt see it.
Do you have the part number that they use?

No this was 2 years ago. Sorry, I do not have the part number for it anymore.
