Default Manual Trans shifting problem

So I bought a 93 5.0 gt for 1,000 off craigslist as a runner driver. Engine was recently rebuilt and the car is all stock besides a bbk inner fender cold air kit. The problem with the car is that first and second gear are fine shifting in no problem 3rd the rpms have t be way down in order for it to go in and it still kinda grinds and you cannot get 4th in at all it cannot be found to even try and shift into it and 5th gear goes right in no problem. Any idea what it might be?

my guess is synchros, but also make sure your clutch is fully disengaging when you press it in.

it should start to engage 1 1/2" off the floor.

you can also jack the rear end up, and put it in gear with the wheels up and clutch in. if the tires want to move, your not adjusted right and can make it really hard to shift too. but chances are that you'd have probs in all gears so i still say synchros

Check blocking rings, shifter fork for 3-4. You got 1-2 &5 clutch is most likely disengaging. Pull transmission and have a look inside for offending parts.
