Default lash adjustment question???????

hey guys quick question, i'm throwing sum heads on my buddys car for him, starting to set the lash, when i go for 0 lash, the lifters start to compress quite a bit just by tighting the poly lock by finger, its not that i'm turing hard at all. is it that his lifters are just bled off and he didn't soak them good enough? not 100% sure if they need to be resoaked or not. any tips??

dont ned to re-soak them. just prime the oil pump while turning the motor over.

and you tighten the poly locks until you cant wiggle the pushrod anymore... dont be hercules
