95 GT - need to remove dash wiring harness
Quick question for someone who's done it.
95 GT vert:
I need to pull the main wiring harness from under the dash. I believe I have traced a short to a factory splice (S228 if you have the factory manual).
I'm wondering if removing the dash is necessary to get the harness out or even if it makes it easier.
I already have the seats removed and most of the trim panels so I would just need to pop the steering column and hood handle.
If I need to remove the dash I'll have to find someone to help maneuver the dash once I get it unbolted. Right now the only help I have is my cattle dog, and he doesn't have any thumbs so he's marginally useful. =/
**One more thing** I have a 96 GT parts car. If I cannot repair the harness and I must replace it I believed the 96 GT under dash harness will swap even though it's a 4.6 Auto instead of the 5.0 Auto like the 95. Anyone know if this is correct or not?
thanks in advance
