Smog Pump ?????
#11
Here in the smithfield area they don't do the visual check, they're supposed to but they don't, I have to say man the new pumps I've tried never seem to shutup and break in, I would hunt down a used fomoco one and slap it on there. You could always get a shorter belt and bypass that badboy and slip the belt on at the inspection station (before) tell'em it just started making that noise. Of course if you're like me, I have friends in a lot of stations, just got my new 5.0 passed with a broke to hell windshield (got it fixed two days later)

Nemesis, it's a plug in resistor from http://rjminjectiontech.com/?p=9. The CEL hasn't lit up since I installed it. The ECM will still throw an EGR code, but I haven't had any drivability issues.

depends on where you go around here. what pissed me off, the station that told me they couldn't inspect my GT because of the missing smog gear used to pass my pickup truck and my 79 Mustang....neither one had EGR, smog pump or even cats. Then you see a friend pass inspection...and his 91 LX has a carbureted 420 Windsor with open headers and nothing but an alternator hanging off the front of the motor....

take a piece of string and map out the belt route with it, when you're finished you can measure it, this will just give you a starting number, you'll be returning a lot of belts to find the right one, I just went ahead and bought two so I wouldn't have to guess on the side of the road
