MOTORCRAFT SP-447 Copper plugs (seeing as you have gt40s) they say Ford right on the box. buy those and gap them to .052"

Platnium plugs are NOT for our cars. that are for high compression high reving imports or similar

what are you running for timing and what octane fuel are you using?

also, the question is are you shifting hard and fast enough?

you need a better clutch end of story. you said the rpms lower down when u let the clutch out and then it doesnt " bark the tires". The clutch is too puuusssyyy and it is slipping a little before fully engaging. get a heavy duty clutch and you should be able to spin the tires in second.

- if these cars can do it stock, then the clutch is not the issue. i've had this king cobra one for about 2k mi along with the aluminum flywheel.

- i will try those standard plugs and report back this evening, thanks.

-timing is set @ 12* using 93octane

there is one issue right there

if you are going to run 93 octane you need to tun more timing than that. low timing with a high octane will make less power than it would with the same timing and lower octane. and it will also give you worse mpg

but too much timing and too little octane it will go boom

if you want to run 12* run 87

if you want to run 93 try out 16*

just for reference i ran 14* at the track with 93 and was running 13.5 then bumped it to 16* and ran 13.17 no detonation and my mpg (highway) went from 19 to 21

16* seems too high for my taste...and when you advance the timing it increases the idle. are you able to do a base idle reset again to compencate or it is what it is? i've also heard that you sacrifice low end torque when you advance the timing, true?

Ya you should do a base idle reset after if you dont like the idle speed. but make sure you do it the right way.

16* really isnt that high. but if it is to you then try running 14*

as for timing and moving the power around im not sure. but my car is set up for 3k plus anyway
