Superchip

My 5.0 currently has 137,000 miles on it. I was wondering if it would still be safe to put a superchip on it or would that make it run too hot?

my experience with the superchip is that it makes my car run cooler...the fan kicks on all the time....sometimes it sounds like a damn RV....

Im not sure, but the chip might trick the computer into thinking the car is running cool to give it more fuel????
