Default BBK CAI install issue

I just installed a BBK fender CAI kit in my car.
No matter how I shift it around or angle the tubes
I cant seem to get the tube that goes from the MAF
sensor to the throttle body intake to stop rubbing off
the front strut tower.
There seems to be about a 1/8 inch of clearance between
the two and when the car idles it occasionally hits the body.
I do have Cobra uppers and lowers on it, Im not sure if that is
a issue. Im thinking that these are designed for a factory type
replacement.
I could probably cut off a little on the pipe and that may buy
me a little more clearance.
Has anyone else had this issue before ??

I've heard for the past 10 years on different forums that you need to cut just a little off the pipe so I'll assume that's what you''ll need to do to make it fit right.

cut an 1/8 to a 1/4 off of the end that goes into the throttlebody, make sure you deburr the edges, that'll clearance it out

+1 on poly mounts. Had to trim my BBk cai. Seem aftermarket parts come close, just need adjusting. (metal removal, bending, and why did I pay good money for something that does not work out of the box?)

Mine fits ever so close with a factory intake. I'm going to the cobra intake soon so it's good to know i should just go ahead and cut off a c hair on that pipe. thanks

Thanks for all the replies on this. My motor mounts are pretty shot.
Im sure that caused alot of the problem. I took 1/4 inch off the pipe
with a chop saw and it gave me just enough clearance so it doesnt hit
the strut tower on idle.
My next project is to swap out the motor mounts sometime in the near
future.
