Default Need help - Black magic fan not working

Just a bit of background for you. I recently had some electrical problems (car stalled and would not stay running after getting a jump) and decided to replace my alternator while also upgrading to a 130a 3g alternator. What a job that was, considering I'm running a V1 Vortech S/C. I had to dismantle a bit of the S/C setup just to perform the swap. In the process, I nicked the temperature sensor for the Black Magic fan switch (didn't realize at the time). I no sooner get the car back on the road just to break down again due to overheating. I'm now stuck trying to troubleshoot the fan issue. I've bypassed the temperature control unit and put power directly to the fan, which works fine. I've again setup all wiring to the temp control unit and heated up the temperature sensor, but cannot get the fan to kick on (I'm using a flame to heat the wire).

Two questions...

1) How can I replace/fix the temperature sensor wire? Can I solder it back on, weld it, or find a way to replace completely?
2) Should I still be able to trigger the temperature control unit by heating up the wire? If so, any thoughts or troubleshooting ideas on how to test and make sure the temp control unit is still working correctly.

Sorry, I'm still learning here. I appreciate any assistance you can give.

if you throw a lighter to it, it should cut the fan on. The solder/welding part i have no idea.

you cant fix that temp sensor, you will have to look for a new temp control.
