Default Emergency help needed!

Hey guys, hard to believe that I am almost 40 and never had this problem before but here goes.

I was changing plugs and wires late into the night last night on my '92 GT and I got done and put all my tools away and closed it up. I was going to take a pic. of what all I had done so far and went to pop the hood and the latch will not release.

I go to analyze the situation and by looking at the semi cocked hood, it appears some goofball that shall remain nameless (LOL) maybe forgot a screwdriver or something and now its in a bind.

I had my wife try to push down on the hood to take pressure off the latch to see if that would work, but no luck.

Anyone have any ideas? I mean, if the cable happened to break, how would you go about opening the hood to fix it.

I was hoping one of you knew of an easy way to do it before I go and try to do something that will probably be hard...... But I need to get the hood open and check a cpl. of things before I drive it today so I need to get it figured out pretty quick.....

Thanks a lot for any responses and I give permission to whoever helps me out to make fun of me for the rest of my life...LMAO

Well, I didn't screw up after all. The cable just decided to break. So I went to my local Mustang parts house and got a new cable. My new door handles came in and I have been installing them and now I am fixing to install the new cable. Ahhhhh, the joys of restoration. I actually really would enjoy it if we didn't have 90% humidity and a heat index of 105 degrees..... Thank goodness for Gatorade.

so im guessing your done.... but you can open the hood from the outside.

lay down and reach up where the cable attaches to the latch. you can pop it with your finger.

i figured that out after some of my $h!t got stolen and they never got inside the car. has worked wonders for me cuz my saturn cable broke and has been that way for like 3 years now lol

Yeah, after I got the hood to open, the first thing I did was look at how the mechanism worked in case the cable ever broke again. I went to a place down the road and got one for $35 bucks. It looks pretty solid, but I am sure it won't last forever.
