manual to automatic ?

RE: manual to automatic ?
I have been at this for decades, and have tried them all. For a car that will rarely see a strip, a 5 or 6 spd is a lot more fun. For a car that will see a lot of street and strip, a built AOD (Lentech is King) will allow you to use decent rear gears, and still do some cruising. For a car that will see no strett or very little, a built C4 is best since it can handle the power, is almost 75 pounds lighter than a AOD, but forget strip gears and crusing with only 3 speeds and no OD. It is all about what you use the car for most.
With a decent converter, the Lentech will spank a like powered 5 speed EVERY time. A couple of my buddies with 04 Cobras can verify that

no real need for a C4. a built AOD is just as good or better then a C4. also with teh AOD you get teh same gears as teh C4 with OD. so its easier on the freeways. also you dont need a new H/X pipe. all you need is stall, shifter, tranny lines, flexplate and a tranny

You just spelled "the" wrong three times...Is that the cool way to spell it?

RE: manual to automatic ?
auto is always more consistent which is better for drag, and the option of a transbrake makes an auto even better for the strip, if thats what you are doing. if its going to be a street machine, and you just wanna make some chevy guys cry at the strip every now and then stay with the T5.
