why do you want to go to an auto? is their anything wrong with your tranny? if so just get a new tranny, or go to a t-56, an auto stang is not as much fun as a stick, im switchin to a 5 spd i cant stand my auto stang.

If you are looking for a weekend track car an automatic is the way to go, Quik can explain more about it. Go to the Lentech website and check out some of their transmissions. It's all preference on what's funner ...

i enjoy drivin a manual, but i recently rode in my friend 71 plymouth valient with a built 340 and a reworked auto tranny with a ratchet shifter, and that thing was bad...it shifter on the dot and just seemed like it had power as soon as it shifted, and i hear its faster in the drag, no matter how good of a driver u r with a shift, im just wondering what i should do, either maual (tremec) or auto/stick c4 or what not, ...automatic is a little cheaper in price
what are some sites

auto might be cheeper but think about this to, your going to need a diff h/x pipe, bellhousing i think, a torque converter, flex pate, trans lines, trans cooler if your radator dose not have one. that is all i can think of now, so go re add your stuff including that, it should be a good bit more. i get where your comming from with the ratchet style shifter for the autos, they are fun, but its up to you.

i went with a c-4 in my 93 coupe and i had to get a trans cooler and alot of other stuff for mine.mine is also just a drag car.if i was going to drive it on the street i leave the manual trans in it or by another one to handle the torque.

no real need for a C4. a built AOD is just as good or better then a C4. also with teh AOD you get teh same gears as teh C4 with OD. so its easier on the freeways. also you dont need a new H/X pipe. all you need is stall, shifter, tranny lines, flexplate and a tranny
