Default 1980 mustang conversion

Hey guys i am new to the forums and i own a 1980 fox body with an inline 6 engine. I am wanting to swap the engine out with a Carborated 302. I am not looking for a drag car i just love the sound of the engines and want it to be a little bit faster. I know i will need new parts such as front springs, wiring harness, transmission and rear gears. (Just so i can DRIVE it without worry of anything failing.) What i would like to know if anyone knows of any problems i would occur while doing the swap, or any other parts i would need to get the engine working in the car. As the car is it runs flawlessly, no ticks pops or squeaks.
Thanks for any help Dustin

IMHO, you shuld plan n swapping ut the entire rear axle to an 8.8 type.
Just about a direct bolt in, they are found under later 5.0 Mustangs.
That 7.5 you have will self-destruct instantly with a V-8.
The front springs may work that you have now....

to just put around and get the car running and driving and dialed it the 7.5 rear will hold up just fine. I ran a 4cyl one in my 82 gt for years with no problem! the springs will work you dont need to change those and i really dont think you have to change harnesses either since the only wire i guess if you could call it goes from the dizzy to the ignition box. run aftermarket guages for your oil water and volts and blammo your done!

Thanks, how much HP would you say you had in front of the it though? I am not looking to get 300 HP or anything but 200 would be nice to start out with. Then after i can find a wreked mustang to change out the rear end i am looking to get 350.
