Akward noise coming on the shift
Hello everyone,
My 90 gt just started to make a weird popping noise when I am either shifting from just like second to third or third to fourth, and it also makes the noise when i am in gear and step on the gas then let off. I mean like getting on the gas a bit not just speeding up, it does not pop out of gear, clutch feels strong. any suggestions on what it might be just ring on in. Thanks everyone

Prangy, a couple things to consider:
1. resto83 is probably right, but in most cases bad u-joints or mounts will also add a new vibration to your list of symptoms. You may also want to make sure you haven't been losing fluid out the back via a bad output seal or plug dislodging from the slip yoke (had both happen to me before). Low fluid could obviously contribute to some odd behavior. Typically if that happened though you would smell it burning or see the smoke from it leaking on your h-pipe.
2. A word of caution in case you find a bad mount: Don't treat it like one of those moments of opportunity like "my rotors are warped so now would be a great time to upgrade to some cross-drilled ones". If you have rubber engine mounts then don't put polyurethane under the trans and vice versa. Keep 'em all the same material.
Good luck!

The material doesn't really matter except when running solid motor mounts. That is when you don't want to run a solid trans mount. I would suggest upgrading your engine mounts first though before you do the trans.
