Default Clutch extremeely sticky after test drive

just got done taking the air silencer out my lx:

ran it down the street to hear the barely noticable difference and when i parked the car i noticed it was nearly impossible to put into any gear, mainly first.. felt like i was pretty much jamming it in i didnt want to forcefully do it but thats the only way itd go in gear. i smelt something funny dont know if it was coming from the tranny or engine..parked it and reved it to see if if it was coming from the motor, took it for another test drive and it seemed to get into gear just fine..anyone know what may of happened?? thanks

absolutely nothing to do with the air silencer, thats for sure. First thing I'd look for is the clutch cable sitting on the header, melting.

When you parked the car you were trying to put it in gear and it was hard to do? The engine was off?
