Angry 91 LX running too hot

I have a 91 lx that likes to run hot. I'm new to domestics so need some help here. The car has a new water pump and a new thermostat. (didn't one in when I opened the housing to replace it) The car runs about 270ish it's in the "normal" range but everything on the factory gauge is in the normal range.

270 is the top of the gauge my bad but it reads a bar below that so i'd say mid 200's the head gasket is fine the fan is working fine I'm starting to wonder if i have an indication problem. any words of wisdom?

If it was running that hot, you should be able to hear the antifreeze boiling. Did you pull over and pop your hood when you noticed it reading hot?

yes definitely checked all of the normal things when i first realized the issue. typing it all out made me realize it was an indication issue. problem solved! a bad engine to chassis ground will cause a high temperature reading. thanks for the help. I'm sure I'll have more questions soon. So far enjoying the switch from import to domestic.
