Default Similar Situation

When you first replaced your new radio head unit, did your turning signal lights and high beam lights light up on the instrument panel when you turned them on? Cause if so, I have the exact same problem. I am in a similar situation.

I have a 95 Mustang 3.8L V6 and when I bought it, it had a custom head unit in it that didn't play CD's so I replaced it and I noticed that the dimmer **** didn't work, and the only lights that work on the instrument panel are the turning signals and high beam. I am also having problems with my AC/heat, the AC doesnt work at all, and the heat only comes out of the defrost...any suggestions...? I really need to get the lights fixed cause I got pulled over last night going 72mph in a 55 zone and didn't even know it b/c I can't see how fast I was going...I can't afford tickets haha.

You're just going to have to run down wires with a test light/volt meter, if you have power at the fuse just trace wires, as for the wiring diagram do you have a haynes/chilton

Does any of the dash light up such as the HVAC controls?

I had somewhat of the same issue as you with no illumination if the cluster or anywhere else. After looking at some wiring diagrams and using a jumper wire, i found out my rheostat switch was bad. replaced that and i had cluster lights

So I fixed my instrument light problem. I decided to take my radio head unit out again and take another look at the wiring. I actually found that for some wierd reason there were TWO grounds one which was grounded out and the other was twisted to the dimmer wire. I unattached the second ground wire and cut it down and the problem is fixed!
