RE: need more power for my mustang
most mild mods wont affect MPG, no bolt on will, unless you go with o/r mid pipe. i say go for gears, the mileage doesnt change that much, its well worth the pull you gain. you can shave .5 in the 1/4 with just gears. also exhaust, the mufflers first, then the mid pipe, headers wont make a diff. until you upgrade the induction. once you do that you will be playing with MPG. dont waste youre money on a CAI, get a K&N panel filter, and remove the silencer. just that alone should wake it up a little.

Well if you thinking about going into the motor with new pistons, you might as well refresh the motor some. New gaskets and such along with cleaning up the block and stock components or replacing them with some forged stuff. 5.0 motors are cheap to build compared to the damn 4.6 i have in my car.

The bolt ons that will add to your gas mileage along with your performance are... Underdrive pullies, offroad h or x pipe and I think that's it. Don't go with a bigger cam just yet, get some 1.7 rr, underdrives, 76mm MAF sensor, 65mm throttle body and if you want, an intake manifold. That's about it for the bolts ons.

i wouldnt get an intake, or cam, or pistons, yet anywyas.. unless theres a reason why you need them. go with bolt ons... headers, exhaust, MAF, TB, delete air silencer and smog, electric fan, maybe get a new shifter, a k&n filter, etc.

well i already have a good exhaust system, k&n filter, hurts shifter, underdrive pulleys, i want to get into the engine and get some noticable power, plus my supension is was too stiff for bumpy country roads i need something with some give so it doesnt bounce off the road.
