No fuel to motor?????

No fuel to motor?????
I recently purchased a 93 Stang at the auction. I guess no one else popped the hood. Cobra Intake, GT40 heads, Vortech S/C, NOS, worked 302, big horsepower, nice sleeper. I worked on it all day today. I can get it to fire, after re-wiring MSD, but I am not getting any fuel to the motor. If I spray starter fluid, it fires right up. I looked at the tank and noticed an exterior fuel pump with a red wire running from it and into the spare tire area, but it wasn't connected to anything. The battery is in the trunk so I spliced a wire to it and got the fuel pump to whine, but still not enough to fire on its on. ANY IDEAS on what I should check for or what is missing?? Thanks, TDP

RE: No fuel to motor?????
Did you check for fuel pressure up by the motor??The is a little scrader valve like a tire valve stem that you can push to see if there is any fuel there,I would check that first. Most important thing is to make sure the pump is putting pressure out before anything, check it all the way back to the tank.

RE: No fuel to motor?????
Thanks for the quick responses.
I did put $5.00 gas in tank out of a can. Can was clean and hopefully so was gas. I think the car has two fuel pumps. I can hear a slight activation out of the inner pump, but not as loud as I am use to. The car has a fuel pressure guage and it is reading 40psi while attempting to crank. I'll check the dirty filter and valve today. I still don't know what he would have been attempting to wire the pump into. There is nothing in the immediate area that I could imagine wiring into. Nasty little car the last owner lost drag racing. It has been sitting for a bit. Any more suggestions would be appreciated. TDP
