Default 1982-95 Mustang 5.0L Ford Racing (Frpp) Crate Engine, 306 Cubic Inch

I just bought a 1993 fox and want to purchase this crate motor, it says it has Fuel pump eccentric M-6287-B302 installed, allows use of a mechanical fuel pump, since i am using a electric fuel pump what do i need to make this work?

Can always remove bolt and trash the eccentric.

If i swapped to a efi timing cover, would i need the block off plate or would the new cover not have the provision for the mechanical fuel pump like the new crate motor does?

if your using a roller cam your current distributor must have a steel gear, oem distributors removed from 5.0 h.0 roller cam blocks from 85-95 all had steel gears as long as you don't have a distributor from a 85 cfi h.o your fine

Not always true. In some applications, the eccentric is located by a longer cam dowel. If you remove the eccentric, the cam bolt washer hits dowel. That's a bad thing.

It doesn't hurt anything for it to be there. I'd just leave it.
