Default 88 5.0 bogging

my 5.0 boggs when you floor it, and when its cold it bucks til the car warms up, or after everytime ive turned the car off and then back on even after only a couple of minutes, say like to put gas in. in the past i changed the fuel filter and it solved the problem for abt a month. i just changed out the plugs and wires, cleaned the throttle body, replaced exhaust gaskets, and pcv valve and it gave it a little better reaction time but none the less it still has the same symptoms. any suggestions, i was thinking of pulling the tank and cleaning it out.

Check the vacuum lines on the intake.

Check vacuum lines, as indicated above. I wouldn't really think about the fuel tank at this point, although with an 88 you might be wanting to do that anyway. Lotsa crud in there, I bet. I forget whether that year is carbed or fuel injected. But either way, there is the ever so slightest possibility that your carb needs tuning. Could be running too rich/lean.

It it's an 88 it's a fuelie motor. Does the car run any smoother on a full tank? when the tank gets low on gas does it start to happen or is it an issue that happens all the time?

it is FI and it happens all the time, like i said i just replaced the fuel filter and pcv valve and and exhaust gaskets and it just gave it a lil better response when its warmed up is there a possibility that it could be some sensor or something that has to do with the intake or throttle body cuz when u floor it u can hear the intake suck like if it was stuck and it just boggs,

Mine is doing the same. A friend recommended checking the CATs to see if one is plugged. He says there would be rattling and the loose stuff can plug up the exit. Im checking it when I get home.

Low vacum on cheap vacum gauge is sign of plugged exhaust.
