96-2001 are the 5.0 exploder years, take the heads too.
the 96 heads are regular gt-40's, the others are the gt-40p heads, which require special headers.
the throttle bodys are 65mm too.

well the 95 to 97 explorers had EGR provision in the intake
98 to 01 explorers have no egr provison in the intake. i

GTP heads can use bbk shorty unequal headers. i knwo cause i have them.

reason you need headers is cause of spark plug clearance. so basically you need MSD mulit angle plug wires. where you can bend them to 90* or so. i did this on my motor

you can get the 65mm tb off them but you need to slightly modify it. but its a cheap 65 mm if you care to do the modding. alot of ppl rather pay for a new one.

95 to 97 1/4 had gt40 headss
971/4 to 01 had the GT40P heads

if you can get the gear set out the rear for cheap its a deal, most have 373s. you will have to switch them over to your carrier though.

actually get teh carrier also. they are 31 spline. then all you will need is 31 spline axles and you got a stout rear

what exactly do you have to do to the tb for it to work?
and what has to be done for a 98 explorer to fit on my stang?

reason I ask because a friend of mine has a 98 upper and lower explorer intake plus the adapter, 65mm tb, and a spacer plate kit for the intake..

well i dont think a 98 explorer will fit in a stang. its just way to large to fit. and besides that truck just is to heavy......lol

the bracket for the linkage is what needs modified, i personally havent done the modding for the 65mmtb but its been done alot.

to large as in.. not lining up with the heads and stuff like that or to large as in not clearing stock hood or anything. I buddy of mine has it and says it will fit... but now that you say it might not, I don't think I can trust him lol.
