drive the car up on some ramps and check:
-your ebrake cables, see if they're rubbing the drive shaft
-check your u joints, wiggling the driveshaft could show some free play in them

the grinding/vibration, only when you give it gas, ie does it grind when you let off the gas in gear? It only happens in fifth or you only notice it in fifth? try taking it out for a ride and (not accelerating hard) just ride it up in the revs in 2 3 4, just ride the gears out to 4k at grandma speed and see if you notice anything. This could be as complicated as a trans rebuild or as simple as a tire out of balance
