Hello everybody, i am new to the forums but am not new to mustang workings. I have a 1990 gt, and i recently replaced the headgasket. Before i did this and still now i hear an alarming rattling sound coming from the engine when i give it gas hard. Any ideas? also the check engine light comes on when this happens.

My, cel at same time of noise...how about running the EEC1V tests and posting results.

i would say rattling like a can of bolts, though i suspect that it may be coming from the valves? And as far as engine diagnostics, i dont have access to an eec1v test. i would have to go to my mechanic.

I got a noise as well it goes VROOOM VROOOM jk tell us more about your set up cam/ comp/timing sounds like detonation but thats just a guess
