Default transmission shifter and linkage

ok, so I'm putting a 3 speed manual transmission from a 72 van into my mustang. It was originally a column shifter but I'm converting it to a floor shifter. The only thing I can find is on ebay, it's a 3 speed shifter with linkage, but it's for a bronco and it's super rusted and the guy wants $230 (like i'm stupid enough to pay that lol) I've tried looking at advance auto but they have nothing like i need and the only thing that comes up is for 4 speed, no matter what year of mustang I put in. Any suggestions, and at a reasonable price?

call lidio at alternative performance in clinton twp MI

i'm pretty sure he has modified the aod shifter for a c4

that is assuming you have a c4 and not a c6, look at the shape of the pan

Either put the van column in it too or go the easy route and get a Mustang transmission or transmission intended for a Mustang.

Here is a link of what I'm talking about, but I don't know if it will work because it's for a 69 mustang.

both transmissions are the same exact length so I don't see that being a problem.

oh, and projectresto83, i'm putting a 3 speed in because the original 4 speed that was in the mustang wont bolt up to the 302. It was one of those stupid "made for a 2.3" trannys. In order to get the bell housing off you had to remove the engine and undo the bolts from the inside of the bell housing. Plus I was told that since it was set up like that, the tranny was most likely set up for only 2.3 and a 302 would rip it apart, that's why I am having problems selling it lol.

ok, why a 3 speed manual? Why don't you use a 3 speed auto (c4) or a normal 5 speed manual (t5) since the car is designed for those type transmissions.
