Default bought a 94 gt, seems sluggish

ok so im new to the mustang and the american v8 all together, i bought her a few days ago and i have (instinctively changed the oil and cleaned the fuel system with *addittives) and she still seems sluggish. at WOT she barely even pulls, at a stop when trying to break the tires loose its nearly inpossible, (no smoke) i have also changed the belt,checked the intake/exhaust (flowmaster w/ 1 cat per pipe, and turn downs b4 the rear tires, *not very loud actually*, it being a 5.0 i figured it would be a lil stronger i guess so im not sure if there is a problem and im loosing power OR if they are really that slow, *and i know the specs of a 94 gt *not very impressive, so does it sound like a possible problem and if so any insight thanks in advance.

First off, do a tune up. If that doesn't do anything, try to pull codes

thats what im thinking next, *it has a k&n hi flow cone replacement filter. i ran seafoam throught the gas tank and the intake (no smoke) so??!! tune-ups are expensive and i will wait on pay day for that.

first off let me guess at something...

it's an automatic right ? thats why

also if the speedo says your going faster than you are it's from a gear swap.

you need to know what ratio you have now. count how many times the driveshaft spins(mark it with chalk or crayon) for 1 single revolution of the tire.

that will tell you... like 2 3/4 turns is 2.73, 3 1/2 is 3.55

anyways, to know what was stock look at the door tag, ax code

m=2.73
z=3.08
e=3.27

im willing to bet you have an aod car, and someone did a gear swap... but instead of getting 4.10's they let someone talk them into 3.55 "cuz it was better than stock"

let me know.... you want 4.10's whether it's aod or t5

a stock aod sn95 car should run 15.00-15.50
a stock t5 sn95 should run 14.20-14.80

fyi... an aod car cannot be corrected for the speedo beyond a 3.55 gear with any speedo gear. and 3.27 is the highest with a ford gear it's the purple 21t

more fyi... do 4.10's, about a 100 shot nitrous and mickey thompsons, and the car will run
about 13.20-13.50

and check your timing, previous owners are dumbasses generally, by recent purchases timing was set at 10 degrees with the spout in, which translated to 2 degree's retard with it out, ran like a honda, no power

dont wanna break your heart but SN's are just slow to begin with...

and id LOVE to see a stock T5 SN run a low 14, i bet high 14's low 15's are all they have in them. mine went 14.4 with a little bit of work done, i think Adder's went in the 14.3-14.2 range with equal mods (had a better "HCI" than i did).

but OP, sorry, these things are dogs...
