Hey guys,

I got a 1992 Mustang 5.0 with a 5 speed manual transmission.

When ever i push the clutch in and hold it down it make a loud noise, like the noise when a power steering is going bad. It still works great it just makes that stupid noise. Any ideas on what it could be??

Sounds like your throwout bearing is failing.
How many miles do you have on your current clutch?
What clutch do you have?

not sure what clutch, came with car, he said it had new one few months ago, i know the throw out bearing is gone, but that wouldnt make it loud as heck when u push clutch in would it? its really loud an buzzing sound like power steering pump noise almost same as it, ??????? also it seems really hard to push the clutch pedal in, would a racing clutch make it feel like this?

not just your throw out, its most likely the fact your bearing retainer is wore out too, recently had to fix this on my car, I know what noise you're talking about, ITS LOUD and extremely annoying

so i gata drop tranny an put new throw out bearng in? anythng else should change while i have tranny out?? any ideas why my hurst shifter rattles lke crazy when you go to take off?? thanks

mine barely started to make a noise when i engaged the clutch, sort of a whine/moan. but only when its on, its not as bad as you guys described though

when you changed out the shifter, did you put a gasket between the shifter and whatever its making contact with?

If its just moving side to side check ur tranny mount

i would go ahead and do the whole clutch bcuz it would suck to have to do it again after already havin it out better safe than sorry
