car runs Horrible!!`
i have a '94 gt. i got it from a guy crashed and i fixed thebody damage (hit in front).
all hte body work is done now but the car runs like crap! i changed the plugs, cap, rotor. but no better. timing is at 10 degree's. if you give it gas when you're starting it, it'll rev up and sound good for about 1/2 sec. then it'll rev up real slow, backfire, just runs horrible, when you put it in gear (automatic) it nearly dies and can barely push/pull itself.
any ideas? what should the wires ohm out to? i cleaned the MAF already aswell, set the timing to 10° (as per the manual i have says), changed the plugs, changed the cap, rotor. any suggesitons will be appreciated.
oh and the check engine light is not on. i have not changed the wires or the fuel filter yet, tired of throwing parts at it....till i get some input.

Wow that is the exact problem that i have had on my 94gt. I changed the plugs, plug wires, dist cap and rotor arm, ignition coil and changed the fuel filter. I have been chatting to some people and have found out that on the distributor there is a TFi module and they often go wrong and cause the syptoms you have explained. I am going to changed mine hopefully in the next couple of days, i will let you know if it works. They aren't that expensive, Hope This helps.

Have you checked to make sure that the timing chain hasn't jumped? Sometimes a wreck can be the jolt needed to have a loose chain jump a tooth or two. You can pull off the distributer cap and put a socket on the crankshaft, then slowly move the crank shaft back and forth and see if there's any play in the chain by watching when the rotor turns. There really shouldn't be over 1° or 2° of play.

i replaced the tfi, runs no better.... i set the timing to 30 degree's and it runs decent, revs up ok but revs up slowly, and once i put it in gear it runs like crap again...anyone else have thoughts?

sounds like you either got really low compression, a huge vacuum leak, or low fuel pressure. you can check the plug wires for continuity, ohming them out is better, but a little trickier as the differant lenght wires will give you differant readings.
