Default First cable clutch

Hey guys got the car in my sig a few weeks ago. It is my first cable clutch car. Everything was good with it till sunday when I got stuck in heavy traffic. It sometimes would not go into first. It was like there is no first gear, would go to push it in gear and would not go. It will also pop out of fourth and fifth gear sometimes. The pedal has a different feel now. I talked to the guy I bought it from and he said that he did replace the cable but with a stock one so I order the bbk adjustable cable with aluminium quadrant which I had planned on putting in anways since its a stage 2 clutch and I was looking for more adjustment. Long story short is I was wondering if this sounds like a cable problem or if there is other things I need to look at this weekend.

The stock cable can self adjust by pulling up on the clutch pedal and then pushing it down all the way with the car in first while engine is off. This probably wont solve this but its worth a try. Where does the clutch grab when you take off?

Yea I did the self adjustment. It will stay in for a little whiles then come out again. I would say the clutch is engaging about when the pedal is 1 to 2 inches off the floor.

Basically tho the general idea tho is that it is most like the cable and not something else tho.
Because I want to have everything I am gonna need in hand just incase there is something else it could be.
