climate control malfunction. any tips?
the blower motor for the a/c heater in the cabin quit working a while back. none of the fuses are bad. i checked the fuse panel above my feet plus the one underhood. voltage tests reveal that the blower motor resistor assembly is bad, as it returned readings that were outside operating range. i threw it out and got a new one. there is volts, about 10, going down the wire to the blower motor itself, with a new resistor assembly. the volatage to the fan reads the same (10-ish) no matter what speed the **** is set to. is this correct? i got a new blower, it wouldnt run even though there are 10 volts going to it. i know the new fan is good. whats the problem here? does the fan need 12 volts instead of 10 to run? and if so, why isnt it getting enough? only thing i can think of is the fan ***** themselves, but i turn the vents back and forth and i can hear the vaccuum lines operating the ducts inside the dash. help! its cold outside!
