Default Big job: 5.0 drop

After a failed attempt at a 4.6 cobra swap into a '90 GT, I have decided to restore the GT to it's original form with the 5.0 it came with. The 5.0 has been sitting in my garage (covered) for about 5 years. What is the first thing to look at?

I've heard of engines seizing from just sitting for a few years - I have never experienced this, though.

i would pull the plugs and put oil in the cylinders and let it sit for a little bit and then try to turn it over

I have yet to put the motor back in the car. It's on an engine stand right now.

The 4.6 is sitting in the bay. So, I have to take that out first, and drop in the 5.0

I just finished i took the engine & trans out, then put in new. Started Sat 7 am finished today at 7 pm two 12 hour days. If the moter had wd40 spayed in it with plug back it will be fine you might have too re-seal heads though?

I was thinking that. The seals will probably have to be replaced. You "put in new" what?

Stupid question - How do i check to see if it turns over on an engine stand? I inherited this project from my brother who didn't finish the 4.6 cobra swap.
