Default Another rear end?

Hope this is the correct section for my post. Im new. I bought a 8.8 from a 98 gt for my 86. I know it bolts in the same but Im worried about it being too wide. I plan on using stock wheels from an 05 stang. I was told it would work fine or I wouldnt have bought it, but figured you guys would know more than my contacs. I plan on running brake lines myself but wanted to know if i will be wasting time. thanks for any input. sorry if this doesnt fall under tech.

the rear axle is 3/4" wider on each side. The offset of the 05 wheels might make up the difference there, but in the front you may have issues with them hitting your struts. You may need to find some spacers for the front wheels.

+1 on the spacers needed. Get the hub centric ones. I don't trust the moroso type spacers you can buy at the local parts store usually.

Thanks for the heads up 86gt and Mk2. I have bought new five lug rotors and used spindles for the front, I am only waiting on the fella to let me know what year he pulled them off of. I was not aware that 94-95 were the better spindels at the time. Do you think I would be better off to purchase later ball joints as well?

its not a case of the spindles being better in the SN-95. they are a different design. The fox spindles used regular wheel bearings, where the SN-95 uses a sealed one piece unit.

You should get the balljoints that match with the year of your spindles btw

Okay so I tried running 3/16 brake lines across the rear end like the Fox rear end had on it. Am I missing something here? The thread on the brake caliper didnt seem to match the fitting on the brake line I purchased. It did start and thread but the fitting bottomed out long before it ever tightened. I read a article that said if running a 96-98 rear in a Fox you would need a brake line kit. Does anyone happen to know what this kit is or where to purchase it? Also while Im already asing for help, am I gonna need special fittings for the front? The front set up is off a 97. Details please I am not a smart man lol. Thanks for any help.
