Fuel gauge help
 

Greets,
1989 5.0. When I bought it, the fuel gauge didn't work, but the light would come on when it was low so that was enough. Now I've put a new sending unit it in and the dang thing runs backwards (almost).

When full, the gauge reads empty and the light comes on. As you burn fuel it will run UP to about 1/2 mark and it runs out just a little past half mark.

Can only plug in the sending unit one way.

Tested the brand new (aftermarket) sender before installed and it was to spec.

There doesn't seem to be different models for the whole range of Fox bodies so I'm at a lost.

Please help.

must be some other wires swapped somewhere else. thats my guess.

Good reason to hook up and test before install.
