Either I found a problem or I'm retarded
I changed my plugs in attempt to get rid of what I think is spark knock. Well I've read through the tech stickies and this just seemed odd to me. I've said it before and I'll say it again, this is my first 5.0. On Adder's how to it shows pics of the dizzy goin in and where you mark it and such. Well, this dizzy is marked on the forward end and then the firing order goes around that way. It was all done by the previous owner. I'm guessing it's 180 out, but why would it run? There is a clearly marked 1 on the cap and that's not where 1 starts. Unless it's 180 out and he just started the firing order there, which is what it appears.
I was going to attempt to get this right, but this being my first 5.0 I'm not certain how to turn the motor over. I've always had a crank bolt to utilize. How's it done?
I plan on buying a new cap and rotor and removing the dizzy and trying the how to, but I need to know how to turn the motor over.

it looks like whoever had your car before you put the distributor in wrong. Take it out, put it back in correctly, re-read my thread on stabbing the distributor slowly.
I clearly state that I simply spun the distributor around to mark it. The picture was just for an example... just so you could see how I drew the line.

Yea that is not installed correctly. From the way the dizzy sits it looks like it was stabbed in a tooth or so off and they turned it to make it work. The first thing you need to do is pull the balancer off and make sure it didn't spin on you. That alone can get you on he wrong road when setting the timing. If you pull the balancer the woodruff key in the snout of the crank will sit at 12o'clock. Then slide the balancer back on and see if it sits at 0 degrees
