I had the same problem, thought my fuel pump was on its way out so i gotta new one with a aftermarket regulator, turns out when i went to set the new regulator my car was running 100 psi of fuel pressure at the rail as it turns out my return line was clogged which caused my pump to wear out from constantly pushing against 100 lbs of fuel pressure, im sure your have the same problem you might wanna look into that as youll start flooding your injectors run super rich etc etc

I car hear mine whining pretty well too. But then again, I have a trap door cut into my trunk for easy fuel pump changes. lmao Probably should insulate the door or something.

Mine is loud too. I hope it doesn't go out, I really don't feel like putting in a new one.

mine has been whining for the last 2 years. actually over 2. ever since september of 2008 i think it was. it's been about 17k miles now, and it's still going. the pump has almost 100k miles on it.
