Default power steering & vacuum leaks

well to go along with the fact that i need an alignment, i came around my street corner a bit fast and heard a strange sound from the front... put the car on jacks and found the the rack and pinion had moved out of place where the two bolts hold it against the chassis. so i tightened up those bolts so now it is flush... but now my steering column is touching the driver side long tube... this has never previously been the case... and while the car runs... i can feel the longtubes shake through the steering wheel..

also, i had the car running in order to do some leak testing. i used wd40 and sprayed the connections from the heads to the lower intake and the lower intake to the upper. after spraying there seemed t be no apparent rpm changes, however it seemed as if the wd40 was "sucked" through the cracks.

why in the hell are you spraying wd40 on your engine....

You are supposed to use carb cleaner.

also, you might be due for a new set of motor mounts.

i was told wd 40 is good to use in this situation.

and i have lifted my engine off the motor mounts several times maybe that would be it.

I just banged my headers until the steering shaft wouldn't hit.

so i noticed that my passenger side rubber on the motor mount split in half.... :/

what are a good set of motor mounts to put in? I have seen some that raise the engine just a tad for clearance with longtubes or modified exhasut.... but i have noticed that most of these say "strictly for track use"... my car is a daily driver in the summer but sits in the winter.. help pleaseeee

I have heard of convertible mounts, but that would lower the engine
