Default want input on gears

well in the middle of doing a 5 lug conversion, i popped off the diff cover and found myself a problem.. a tooth is broke off my ring gear, was told i could leave it and it might last for now but i put to many miles on to chance it blowing and leaveing me in a worse situation.. so what im asking is what gear i should go with.. would like to get 3.73's but i do way to much highway driving, so maybe 3.55's.. and if anybody knows a good place to order them from.. at late model restoration i found a complete install kit with 3.55's for 259.99... also might get the Traction-Lok limited-slip differential for 179.99.. thanks alot

3.73's are good for highway but if you do a LOT of it then go with 3.55's.

get the gears here... buyfordracing.com

and if the car is old do the t-lok rebuild

Why wouldn't you want to buy a new differential?

I agree here, rebuild your current differential. It IS a trak-loc. but the clutches are probably worn out.

As for gears, I dont think I would ever run anything LESS then 3.73s. I have them in my car, and might be stepping up to 4.30's

alright thanks alot.. i was thinkin 3.55's cause in the summer every 2 or 3 weekends i do about 600 km highway driving, but the difference in rpm wouldn't be that much different.. and i believe the clutches are wore out in the trac lok.. won't spin posi at all anymore.. now i just gotta talk myself into putting out the cash, it's the shipping that gets me.. thanks again
